Worn out running shoes

OTTAWA - An appeal court has confirmed that Canadian taxpayers must pay $6,000 for the "pain and suffering" endured by U.S. multiple murderer Gregory McMaster who injured his knee after prison officials deliberately failed to promptly replace his worn-out ....18-month-old sneakers, knowing his shoes to be "worn-out and inadequate" and knowing that the inmate might injure himself as a result.

This was from another thread.

I have lived in Canada for over five years now. I still wear two pairs of sneakers/running shoes that I bought several years before I left the UK. One pair has the stitching undone on the top and the inner soles are worn. The other pair are pretty worn, fraying in part and the inner soles are also very worn. I have some insoles inside to counteract that problem.

I still wear them as they are serviceable if not particularly comfortable. With the drugs costs (yes, that again  :)) I don't feel I can spend money on new shoes.

Maybe I should go out and commit a crime.

At 18 months those sneakers are just getting broken in .

Briss, if you decide to commit a crime to obtain new ones, may I suggest looking up those judges and oh.....say kicking them where the sun does not shine.

Should you hurt your toes while kicking them, well that just might be grounds for another lawsuit.   ;)
