Alberta RCMP warn public of released child sex offender Gary Joseph Robins

RCMP are warning the public after a Spruce Grove man they characterize as a repeat child sex offender was released from custody Sunday.

Gary Joseph Robins, 44, completed 564 days in prison for inviting a girl under 14 to be touched in a sexual way.

"Gary Robins has a lengthy criminal history of committing sexual offences against females under the age of 16 years within the Province of Alberta," Stony Plain RCMP said in a news release. "This individual represents a significant risk to sexually offend against female children and poses a considerable threat in the community."

Robins is approximately six feet tall, 161 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.

RCMP say Robins plans to live in Spruce Grove which is approximately 30 km west of Edmonton.

Sounds like keeping him in jail (longer sentence) might be a better idea.

Previous discussions aside...what was the appeal to her? 

It's not like he's a young or good looking 44 is it.

Tell you what....there's a bit of a difference in those two photos.

As someone who had to concern themselves with ID and photos in a previous job, guidance was always to compare photos rather than a photo with the face.

The hairline looks the same in both pics and so does the mouth...maybe the eyebrows too.

But his ears stick out in the top photo (especially his right one) and his nose looks slightly fatter in the bottom one.

Robert Joseph Munden sentenced for sexual assault on teen daughter’s friend

A Halifax businessman has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and two years’ probation for sexually assaulting one of his daughter’s friends.

Robert Joseph Munden, 46, a married father of three and owner of Munden’s Moving Ltd., was sentenced Thursday in Halifax provincial court.

The offence occurred April 20, 2008, in Brookside, where Mr. Munden’s family was residing at the time. They now live on Sunnybrae Avenue in Fairview.

Court was told that Mr. Munden and the victim, then 16, were alone in the house. His wife, Sheila, had gone to pick up his 16-year-old daughter from an early morning soccer practice.

Mr. Munden went into his daughter’s bedroom and crawled into bed with the victim, who had slept over.

He hugged the girl and rubbed her stomach before putting one of his hands down her pants and touching her vagina.

He pleaded guilty this April, just as he was supposed to go on trial for sexual assault.

Mr. Munden, a former junior hockey star, must provide a sample of his DNA to police for a national databank and will be listed on the province’s sex-offender registry for 20 years.

YARMOUTH - RCMP in Yarmouth warned people here of the arrival Friday of a violent sex offender who was just released from prison.

Jonathan Wayne Lamrock, 35, admits he is a sex addict who believes his women should give him what he demands, says the national parole board.

Mr. Lamrock arrived in Yarmouth at midday, just hours after completing his full 34-month sentence for his latest offences which include sexual assault and uttering death threats.

The 5-foot-10, 208-pound man has brown hair and blue eyes, and a reputation for terrorizing his girlfriends. At least five different women have been victims of his sexual attacks; others have been victims of his physical aggression.

And his relationships have been very dysfunctional. The victims are usually much older than Mr. Lamrock, a parole board document said.

"By your own admission you crave sex and believe your women should fulfill your needs on demand," said the parole board.

Mr. Lamrock’s offences occurred in the Yarmouth area, said RCMP Cpl. Stacey Tracy.

She said he is living in Yarmouth, but would not say where.

The convictions for which Lamrock has finished serving time for occurred in Aug. 2006 in Yarmouth. Because Lamrock served out his entire sentence, Corrections Canada can’t impose any conditions on his release, like it can with other offenders, which is why the RCMP stepped in.

Convicted child molester David Wadsworth declared a long-term offender

He was a former high school principal, is a convicted child molester and a distributor, producer and possessor of child pornography.

And yesterday,David Wadsworth,54, was declared a long-term offender.

A handcuffed and shackled Wadsworth,stood passively in the prisoner's box as Quebec Court Judge Suzanne Coupal sentenced him to 40 months in prison and ordered him closely watched for 10 years once released.

The time Wadsworth spent in prison awaiting sentence was deducted, leaving him 28 months and three weeks.

A pedophile with a "very high risk" of reoffending, the divorced father of two was in jail awaiting sentence on two child pornography charges after police found 732 sexually explicit images found on a computer seized from his home.

Wadsworth was first arrested for possession of child pornography while working at John Rennie High School in Pointe Claire in 2000. He pleaded guilty to nine charges of gross indecency and sexual assault. He was arrested again in 2006 on the most recent child-porn charges and pleaded guilty.

WINNIPEG - The 13-year-old dragged his victim  by her legs down two flights of stairs, then left her naked and semi-conscious with a footprint on the side of her face.

The teen, now 14, sexually assaulted the 13-year-old girl after the two were drinking with friends.

He became enraged after the girl rejected his advances. He beat her and stomped her before leaving.


The Judge called the attack a serious violent offence and said the teen showed little empathy for the girl during his trial.


Police arrested him following the attack and he was released last September.

The Crown was opposed to his release, saying that he’s a high-risk individual who won’t obey court orders to behave.

Two months later, however, the boy was back in custody after he violated his bail conditions by carrying weapons during a visit to his grandmother.

The boy got an 18-month jail sentence for the sexual assault conviction, minus credit for about 250 days he’s already spent in jail.
